MIMA Young Artist Competition 2024

General terms and conditions

1. By submitting an application, the participant accepts the regulations, the general terms and conditions, and the privacy policy of the competition. 

2. Applications of minor musicians without the legal guardian’s consent will not be considered. 

3. Application 

3a. Once the application fee is submitted, it cannot be reimbursed and cannot be resubmitted to change its content. Each application must be paid with an $80 application fee. This fee is non-refundable. 

3b. All steps and final decisions will be held online via submitted application form.

3c. If invited to the Winner’s Showcase to perform their recorded video performance live on stage, participants residing outside Orange County, California must pay for their own travel and accommodation expenses as necessary.

3d. The international jury's decisions are final. The jury members will be able to provide feedback about the applicant's performance upon the contestant’s request. 

4. Disclaimer 

4a. MIMA is not responsible or liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption,) arising out of the use or inability to use the materials on MIMA’s Internet site. 

4b. MIMA's website could include technical, typographical, or photographic errors. MIMA does not warrant that any of the materials on its web site are accurate, complete, or current. MIMA may make changes to the materials contained on its website at any time without notice. MIMA does not, however, make any commitment to update the materials. 

4c. MIMA may revise these terms of use for its website at any time without notice. 

5. Prizes 

5a. Apart from the clearly defined monetary prizes, other prizes may be subject to change and MIMA reserves the right to modify them. 

5b. No prize can be exchanged for money. The prizes are as stated and no extra cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. We reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice. 

5c. Winners will be announced on April 18th 2024 and the monetary prize will be given to the prize winners at the Winner’s Showcase Recital. 

5d. The amount of scholarships given to the prize winners to attend the Montecito International Music Festival will be deducted from their total bill for the festival. In the event that a prize winner chooses not to or cannot attend the Montecito International Music Festival, the scholarship awarded to them will be considered void and will not be equated to a cash prize.The festival scholarship is designated for the participation of 2024 Montecito Festival only and cannot be applied to subsequent year’s participation.

6. Live Winner’s Concert

6a. MIMA will provide the venue for the live performance and there are no additional fees to participate in the Winner’s Showcase for the prize winners. 

6b. MIMA has the exclusive rights to take care of the content, design and distribution of any publicity or informative statements, including program booklets, brochures and posters, concerning the performance. 

6c. The contestants allow MIMA to use his/her name, photos, and all information and materials provided to MIMA for promotion and publicity material, including the program booklet MIMA might publish concerning the competition. 

6d. MIMA is entitled to all publicity - rights concerning advertising, publicity and promotion in any form or by any medium. 



Privacy policy: 


1. Before or at the time of collecting personal information, we will identify the purposes for which information is being collected. 

2. We will collect and use personal information solely with the objective of fulfilling those purposes specified by us and for other compatible purposes, unless we obtain the consent of the individual concerned or as required by law. 

3. Personal data should be relevant to the purposes for which it is to be used, be accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
